Pastor Neal Whitman has been a teaching elder at SGBC since 2012 and began full-time ministry in July 2019.

Neal was formerly blessed to serve as a Canadian Forces Infantry Officer for 20 years, and after many trials, which taught him God's constant grace and merciful care for his own, he responded to God's call on his heart to give his full time and attention to serving the church as a preacher, teacher, and pastor.

Married by God's unsearchable kindness to Crystal Whitman since 2001 and father of six teenagers, God has been a constant help to this unworthy servant.

Other Leaders

Elders

Neal serves alongside two fellow elders who also serve as teachers and spiritual guides in the church.

Dale and Matt keep him accountable and the three seek to regularly challenge each other in making sure that they are serving the church and the community as they should and that they are walking in the principles of scripture together.

Deacons

Sovereign Grace has been blessed with three deacons as well, who seek to be servants to the material needs of our people and care for the labours required to be good stewards of the gifts of the church.

Our People

At Sovereign Grace we recognize that God gives all of his people gifts to serve the church and there are many opportunities to serve in various ministries, in leading and teaching our youth, serving in the community and participating in leading the worship of God, whether in music, prayer, or teaching according to each one's gifts.

Though the church is lead by the elders and deacons in its many works, all efforts of the church are done in agreement with the church body as a whole.
